i32 - the last big LAN of 2007 - has come to a close. The final attendance figure was 1,028 BYOC participants nearly 300 spectators and almost a hundred exhibitors - making it the biggest November event we've ever put on, continuing the record breaking year. It takes the final figure of gamers through the doors of the i-Series in 2007 approaching the 6,000 mark.
We've seen the highest value tournaments ever seen at the i-Series, exluding the World Cyber Games, with Intel's $20,000 Quake IV Championship and our own Multiplay CS: Source Cup with €12,000 up for grabs. Well done to toxjq who won Quake IV and London MiNT who took the CS: Source title, we'll hopefully be seeing them back at i33 as they have won free tickets to come back - as have all our tournament first place winners.
i32 saw the first major tournament for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and the first ever Call of Duty 4 and Crysis tournaments anywhere (Crysis doesn't even come out until Friday!). Huge success all round in all of these first time tournaments, we're hoping to see more of these at future events.
The exhibition also saw some very impressive stands this time around with massive efforts from Packard Bell, Intel, Scan, EA, Crucial, Kwari and Kustom PCs. We saw a great demo of a 3D monitor on the Quiet PC stand and the amBX technology on display from Philips.
Among the prizes given away by the exhibitors (for free) at i32 are: a Packard Bell Quad-core gaming PC and 24" widescreen monitor, a Hellgate: London branded Quad Core PC by EA, quad core processors given out to people who asked good questions in the Crysis presentation, sticks of Crucial Ballistix memory for doing things like stacking pigs, playing with Lego and throwing darts! There we literally hundreds of other things given away - hoodies, sleeping bags, t-shirts, thermos mugs, Hard Drives, memory keys - the list is literally endless.
This isn't even including the kind of hardware we gave away in the raffle - with an estimated total value approaching £6,000 of hardware and shed-loads of peripherals and other gadgets. The top prize of an EA Crysis branded Quad core BEAST of a machine sat at the pinnacle of peoples most-wanted lists, the quad core processors were also making people drool as a thousand pounds worth of Intel CPUs were given away with just 3 tickets. Graphics cards from nVidia, Sapphire and XFX and motherboards from Gigabyte and Abit also topped off the prize list. The total number of prizes it too many to list here so for more you should check out our raffle page.
That just about covers it for i32 - we owe a big thanks to all of our sponsors including Packard Bell, Intel, EA, Activision, PC World and BT - all of our exhibitors including Scan, Kwari and Kustom PCs. Most of all we want to thank the most important people of all - you. Without the gamers the i-Series would not exist and we always like to remember who it's ultimately about when we plan the events. The whole of the i-Series revolves around games and having fun, we hope you have had a great time at i32 and we'll be seeing you on our servers online, on the forums and IRC and of course at i33 in Easter 2008!
